The INDUSTRIEPREIS awarded by Huber Verlag für Neue Medien GmbH is given to companies featuring high economic, social, technologic and ecologic benefits. We are very proud that the jury of experts awarded our optical sensor system STEINBICHLER COMET 6 16M - ILC with the BEST OF 2015 title!30 professors and specialized journalists are part of the top-class jury of experts, thus providing an objective evaluation which makes this award unique in the German industry.
Steinbichler Optotechnik GmbH (headquartered in Neubeuern/Germany), the worldwide leading provider of optical measuring and sensor technology, will be presenting smart sensors for 3D digitizing as the centerpiece of their exhibit at Control 2015 (hall 5 stand 5304). "The COMET 6 16M sensor we are presenting is the flagship of fringe projection sensors. The modular sensor, with its new projection unit characterized by extremely bright LED technology and an innovative projection lens, provides an entirely new outlook on 3D digitization", reports Hans Weigert, Head of Sales/Marketing at Steinbichler Optotechnik GmbH. "The end-to-end T-SCAN laser scanner and tracking solutions, for their part,…
The bright minds from the Steinbichler COMET development team – metrology specialists for user-oriented product development and optimization The high-end 3D sensor COMET 6 16M from Steinbichler, features the so-called 3D-ILC (Intelligent Light Control) technology. With this innovative and intelligent projection method, data acquisition on objects with varying or highly reflective surfaces has now been optimized and improved, which opens up an entirely new spectrum for 3d digitizing applications.Conventional projection technologies often meet their limits when highly reflective object surfaces are digitized, which would cause excessive outshining or undercut effects of the fringe pattern in the camera image and to…

Intelligent 3D digitization

Fringe projection systems have become a well-accepted measurement tool in industrial metrology, as they are capable of generating large numbers of points in just a short time, in contrast to tactile methods. The limits of these systems are still tested, however, when different areas of the surface to be digitized exhibit stark differences in reflexive properties, and as a result, the dynamic range detected by the camera is no longer adequate. The COMET 6 sensor from Steinbichler Optotechnik GmbH takes a new approach in this regard by automatically adapting the amount of light projected based on the local reflexive properties…
